Private coaching for fiction authors

Don't market the wrong book harder.Build the right path first.

Whether you are choosing a first direction, rebuilding a stalled series, or tightening a working author business, we start with what you need now—and build a commercially grounded path around the author you actually are.

Where authors get lost

Marketing is not the first decision.

Marketing sits downstream from the market, reader promise, book, series model, production economics, and packaging. If those pieces never worked together, more posting or advertising will not repair the foundation. We start earlier—where the expensive decisions are still changeable.

The profitable write-to-market path

Make the commercial decisions in the right order.

01

Market

Find the useful intersection between what readers buy and what you can sustainably write.

02

Reader

Define the experience and expectations that make the right reader choose—and finish—your book.

03

Book + series

Shape a book and series model that creates a natural reason to read the next title.

04

Economics

Consider production costs, pricing, capacity, and where not to spend money yet.

05

Packaging

Connect the title, cover direction, description, categories, and retailer presentation to the market promise.

06

Marketing

Choose the few visibility and reader-retention activities that fit your stage, genre, and resources.

This is a profit-minded planning process—not a promise that any book, series, launch, or author business will be profitable.

Start with what you already have

No duplicate shopping list.

If you use Books & Biz or belong to AI Writing Easy AF for Authors, we can securely verify relevant resources through your Books & Biz account—with your permission.

We'll build around the useful tools you already own or can access, identify what does not belong in this project, and avoid creating a weaker copy of an existing product. AuthorBrain HQ remains the home for long-term author-business organization; coaching supplies the private judgment and customization around it.

Your paid coaching time is not spent learning the system.First, you review and sign the agreement, complete payment, enter your private hub, reserve your first-call date, and finish onboarding. That completed first call is Program Day 1. Your 14- or 30-day coaching window does not begin when you sign, pay, receive portal access, or work through setup. If the active schedule is full, payment may reserve a later first-call date.

Exclusive to the 30-day experience

We vibe code your exact writing workflow together.

This is not a generic dashboard or a replacement for tools you already own. We map how you develop and write fiction, find where momentum disappears, connect the useful pieces, and collaboratively build one repeatable workflow for one pen name, principal genre, preferred AI environment, and current test project.

90-minute kickoff call is Program Day 1Two-hour screen-shared buildBuild completed by Program Day 25One permitted rescheduleTime afterward for testing and questions

You share your screen and remain in control of your accounts, credentials, files, and computer. The session is collaborative; it is not unlimited software development or ongoing maintenance.

When 30 days is only the beginning

Keep building for $997/month.

After your initial program, we can continue by mutual agreement and as capacity allows. The continuation is for authors who want ongoing private support while we implement, test, and refine the next pieces of their current plan. Each $997 monthly continuation includes one 60-minute private call plus continued private Slack coaching under the same Monday–Thursday communication guidelines.

This is never an automatic subscription. We confirm the priorities and fit before each continuation period. It supports your existing workflow and Books & Biz or AuthorBrain HQ resources; it is not unlimited software development or a replacement for those products.

One clear coaching home

Everything important stays organized.

Private onboarding

Your private coaching hub

Your signed agreement, official dates, onboarding checklist, call links, recordings, resources, and final deliverables live in one place after payment.

Slack

Your conversation channel

Ask questions, share updates, and work through decisions privately without turning your inbox into the coaching record.

Books & Biz

Your verified toolkit

Your existing login can confirm relevant membership and product ownership. You will not need to reconstruct your purchase history from memory.

Access with clear boundaries

Ask what you need. Know when answers arrive.

Send when you need to

Post questions and updates whenever they occur to you. Coaching is asynchronous, so you do not have to wait for a live appointment.

Responses Monday–Thursday

Dana responds during the 9:00 AM–4:00 PM ET support window, generally within one business day. Wednesday is a support day, but never a call day.

Use READY for faster help

Gather the goal, context, what you tried, the decision you need, and relevant links into one message. Add READY when it is complete.

Your calls are recorded

Private calls are recorded and shared for personal use, so you can stay present instead of trying to capture every sentence.

Honest fit matters

Right-fit coaching still requires participation.

You do not need to reach a particular career level. You do need to participate, prepare, share useful context, and make decisions.

This may be for you if…

  • You write—or want to write—fiction in any genre.
  • You may be unpublished, rebuilding, mid-catalog, or established—and you have a specific decision or system to improve.
  • You want commercially informed choices without chasing a genre you will hate writing.
  • You are open to honest feedback about the market, readers, costs, capacity, and timing.
  • You want a plan built around your actual strengths, limitations, tools, and working style.
  • You are prepared to make decisions and participate in the work.

This is not for you if…

  • You want a guaranteed bestseller, income level, ranking, or return on investment.
  • You want someone to write, edit, publish, market, or build an entire business for you.
  • You are looking for unlimited live access or immediate replies at all hours.
  • You want a custom replacement for AuthorBrain HQ or an existing Books & Biz product.
  • You are unwilling to prepare, share relevant context, or test our decisions.
  • Your work includes splatter horror, sexual content involving minors, or illegal sexual content.

Before you enroll

The practical details.

When does my coaching window begin?

Your first completed coaching call is Program Day 1. Before that, you sign the agreement, pay, enter your private hub, reserve your first-call date, and complete onboarding. None of that setup time uses your 14 or 30 paid coaching days. Before Program Day 1, Slack is limited to onboarding, access, scheduling, and preparation questions.

When are calls available?

Appointment availability varies. Current scheduling generally includes Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons beginning at 2:00 PM ET, with two Sunday-afternoon appointments released each month. Wednesdays are currently unavailable. Available dates and times may change and will be shown in the booking calendar.

How are program dates counted?

Weekends count. United States federal holidays observed on weekdays do not and extend the end date. Business days are Monday through Thursday, excluding observed federal holidays.

Can I continue afterward?

Yes, when we both agree that continued work is useful and capacity is available. The optional continuation is $997 per month and includes one 60-minute private call plus continued private Slack coaching under the same Monday–Thursday communication guidelines. We can use that support for continued implementation, testing, and refinement. It is never automatic and does not include an entirely new Accelerator or unlimited software development.

Do you guarantee that my books will make money?

No. Publishing outcomes depend on the book, market, execution, costs, readers, timing, and factors outside either person's control.

What if I already own Books & Biz tools?

Good. With permission, onboarding verifies the relevant resources connected to your account so we can begin with what you already have.

Three introductory spots remain. Then the price changes.

You do not need to fit a level. You need the right next move.

Bring the fiction career you want to build, the questions you have now, and the willingness to make honest decisions. We'll start there.
